West Cork Beacon has offered training and education to many organisations, the community and schools.
Through our training, we hope to make a difference by raising awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
The Know Your Worth Schools Programme began in 2018. The programme focus on creating the message that everyone has worth, and no one deserves to be mistreated or abused.
The programme involves an interactive, victim centred approach to understanding domestic abuse in dating relationships. Through the programme we hope to discuss young people’s rights in dating but also their responsibilities – that every person has a responsibility not to perpetrate abuse and the changing of behaviour should start with abusers, not victims.

Any organisations working within the community can encounter domestic abuse or sexual violence, whether you are in a public sector, community or voluntary organisation. Often when someone is seeking support from various services, they can have issues that intersect with domestic abuse or sexual violence.
By an organisation increasing their knowledge/awareness they are better placed to recognise signs, offer support and provide referrals as required.
We are available to offer support and advice to an organisation that needs it. When suitable, we can also offer training to organisations to increase the knowledge of employees and volunteers.
